Its hard to over-state the significance of this restoration prairie with bison. A Potowatomi word referring to tribal healers, this stretch of land was once a military arsenal. We wanted to see the old ammunition bunkers. These are located on the north-east side of the park which is not the normal tourist area. The day was hot and the trail was mostly miles long roads – but totally worth it.
